There are many details to attend to just traveling internationally, add to that finding a hospital, a physician, and the whole process can be overwhelming. We have developed a tried and true system to help you through the maze of medical tourism. We will be with you every step of the way. Please read the following steps that outline the process from start to finish.
Request a Case Manager Assignment
Start by filling out our short client intake form. Based on the information that you provide, we will choose an appropriate Case Manager (CM) to be your guide. Completing this form, does not obligate you to use our services, or cost you anything. The information you provide will help us better understand your specific needs.
Your CM will contact you either email or telephone. We recommend using the telephone, because it provides us with a more in-depth assessment of your needs.
This step is very important to you, because your case manager (CM) will help you decide which physician, and hospital you want to use, provide a price quote, and work out a travel schedule.
In order for your physician to correctly plan your course of treatment, it will be necessary to send them your medical history, medical records, and medical images (MRI's, x-rays, photos, etc.)
If your medical images are not available in a digital format, you can take digital photos of you film images at your doctors office, or you can can have our digital imaging company digitize your medical images.
Most clinics will require you to sign a release form, which will allow them to release your medical information.
We will give you instructions for sending your medical information as a e-mail attachment or using a trackable carrier like FedEx or UPS.
When we receive your medical images, and your completed medical history questionaire, we will forward them to the medical provider of your choice.
Once we have your medical information, we will then request an evaluation of your medical information and, an all-inclusive price quote.
Price quotes are usually returned within 24-48 hours of receipt.

After you have reviewed the price quote and have decided to proceed, we can arrange for a consultation with your doctor or dentist. This email or phone consultation will give you the opportunity to discuss your case in more detail, and address any questions or concerns.
You will need a valid U.S. passport for everyone in your party.
For travel to India, you will need to get a visa from that country's embassy.
You might want to purchase travel insurance for you, and your traveling companions. There are a variety of vendors to choose from.
We will provide travel tips on what to pack, and suggest personal supplies that will be handy to have.
We will also, suggest some dos and don'ts, based on our experiences at your travel destination, to help insure your safety and convenience while abroad.
Your Case Manager (CM) will help with all the arrangements at the hospital, and make suggestions for hotel accommodations.
You can then contact our travel partner, so you can reserve your airline tickets, and hotel.
Once you have had a chance to review the details of your medical journey, and you are comfortable with everything, final travel plans will be made.
We will send you a detailed itineray that will include all of your appointments and scheduled activities while you are away.
Before you leave, you will send us a 10%-15% deposit for your medical procedure(s). If you arrive and for any reason do not have your medical procedure(s), your deposit will be returned in full.
You can now get on the plane, and relax knowing all details of your stay have been arranged by Global Medical Retreats.
Upon arrival at your destination, your Destination Case Manager (DCM) will meet you at the airport, and take you to your hotel or guesthouse.
This person will be assigned to you for the duration of your stay. Your DCM is fluent in English, so you will not have any problems with communication.
The DCM will be your personal assistant should you have questions or requests, and will be available 24/7 during your visit.
When it is time for you appointment with the doctor, your DCM will return to pick you up, and take you to the hospital/clinic for your pre-procedure consultation with him/her.
Your doctor will review your records, examine you, and may order tests to confirm your treatment plan, and your readiness for treatment.
If everything is in order, your will will meet you and transport you to the hospital or clinic on the day that your surgery or treatment has been scheduled.
After your surgery or treatment, you will recuperate in the hospital until your doctor feels you can be released. If additional time is required for you to recuperate you will return to your hotel/guest house until the doctor says it is safe for you to travel.
When you feel like it, you can enjoy some of the sights, and attractions in your destination country, or just return home.
Upon your return home, you will be contacted by your domestic Case Manager (CM) to see if we can be of further assistance. You will want to make an appointment to see your primary care physician to begin aftercare.
It is very important for you arrange for aftercare before you travel.
